How could a show as popular and long-lasting as Frasier not make a cent?

...fuzzy math?

In a lawsuit filed against show producer Paramount, two talent agencies claim the show grossed $1.5 billion but, in the end, lost $200 million.

...if it's true, you can blame the last few years of the show, where licencing fees (and Kelsey Grammer's salary) began to skyrocket, as laughs (and, coincidentally, ratings) plummeted... that totally forced "will they or won't they" Niles-Daphne storyline helped the show pole vault over the shark, big time...
