Squeaky Clean Olympics? Ciao!

Italy, known for risque taste in its television shows, has promised it will keep its Winter Olympics performers tasteful for U.S. prime-time television.

... even foreigners are afraid of FCC fines... how ridiculous...

The country, where topless game show hosts are practically considered to be family fare, will bow to American sensitivities for the Games.

In 2004, a handful of prudish American viewers complained about the Athens opening ceremony to the FCC, prompting the Games chief to warn American regulators not to try to police ancient Greek culture.

.. our country is great, but sometimes we really act like six year olds... or at least, how we think six year olds act...

1 other geekspeak:

  • I think the biggest question about the Winter Olympics is how American Idol will do against it. 2 weeks of Idol will take place during those Olympics. The first American Idol was in the summer of 2002, months after the Olympics that year.

And I wonder if CBS is holding back Survivor until March. I do expect NBC will have a shortened cycle of The Apprentice, though...
