Geek Of The Week

This week's nod goes to Tom Cruise, for completing his transformation from quiet, respectful screen star to an insane, uncontrollable media monkey on NBC's Today show (see story below).

Of course, he's not all bad; kudos for questioning Matt Lauer's intelligence. We've been doing that for years.

Today, Cruise Flips Out

In Tom Cruise's latest stop on his "Hey, look at me! I'm nuts!" tour, he got into a heated debate with Matt Lauer.

Has anyone else had enough of this guy? Honestly. Just go away.

In case you can't get enough, watch the exchange here.

Trauma: Life In The Courtroom

Two Florida men are suing the producers of the reality TV series Trauma: Life in the E.R., saying their privacy rights were violated when cameras captured their treatment after their motor vehicle accidents.

One of them also complained the cameras made his spleen look fat.

PBS Not Dead Yet

Looks like Elmo won't be getting his walking papers anytime soon.

After a flurry of protest from supporters of public television and radio, the House voted Thursday to restore $100 million in programming money to next year's Corporation for Public Broadcasting budget.

However, $105 million in other funding, including $23 million for children's programming and educational outreach, was eliminated. That fight continues into the Senate, which has traditionally been a strong backer of PBS and NPR.
