Tonight's Tube

2005's answer to Paul Rodriguez premieres his own show tonight on Comedy Central: Carlos Mencia's The Mind of Mencia debuts.

Think of him as a cheaper, Latin, way less funny version of Dave Chappelle.

Executives Show Danza Who's the Boss

After determining they had their answer to the question "What could be worse than a talk show starring Wayne Brady?" dissatisfied executives have hailed a taxi for several staffers for underperforming daytime filler The Tony Danza Show.

Among myriad backstage changes, sidekick Ereka Vetrini, whose role was minimized earlier this year, has gotten the chop. Executive producer John Redmann and supervising producer Shane Farley will also not be back for the on-serious-freaking-thin-ice second season.

Danza, who's said to be furious about the firings, will presumably still return for another accident-prone season filled with awkward interviews, amateurish tap-dancing and near-fatal head injuries, unless he finally gets that offer to make She's Out Of Control 2.

Live Hate

It may raise tons of cash for hungry Africans, but the TV coverage of Live 8 was a bust here in the U.S.

ABC's prime time highlights coveerage garnered only 2.9 million viewers, making it the least-watched original program on ABC on Saturday night since 2002.

The ratings for MTV/VH1's coverage have yet to be announced. But their coverage, hosted by pukey, babbling twenty-something know nothings who added ZERO to the proceedings, made me physically ill.

Lara Flynn Boyle Hits Vegas

Emaciated star Lara Flynn Boyle, known for her roles on The Practice and Twin Peaks, is joining the cast of NBC's Las Vegas in the fall.

She'll play the flamboyant new owner of the Montecito Casino, where the show is set.

Maybe she'll hit the buffet and add a few ounces whilst she's there.
