Goodbye, Farewell, Amen

Sunday's Super Bowl telecast scored big for ABC.

It was the second most watched TV show ever, right after the final episode of M*A*S*H, which aired in 1983.

The Pittsburgh Steelers' victory over the Seattle Seahawks was watched in an average of 45.85 million homes, punting a 41.6 preliminary rating and a 62 share. At least part of the game was watched by an estimated 141.4 million people in the United States alone.

Me? I fast forwarded through the game to see the commercials. Bad idea... they all pretty much blew.

1 other geekspeak:

  • I see mixed reports. Which one's right?

    1. It's the highest rated Super Bowl since SBXXX in 1996.
    2. It's the highest Super Bowl ever.

My guess is that the 1st one counts everyone who watched the game for 1 second.
