Michaels Ditches MNF- for SNF?

ESPN has announced their Monday Night Football anchor team on Wednesday- and it did not include Al Michaels.

This seems to pave the way for him to join NBC's new Sunday Night Football broadcast- and be once again alongside John Madden.

Michaels had previously announced he would remain with Monday Night Football when it moves from ABC to ESPN. He's apparently had a change of heart- and is willing to give up his basketball duties to remain on broadcast network football coverage.

No announcement is expected from NBC until after its Olympics coverage.

2 other geekspeak:

  • NBC's Sunday night NFL games will not be referred to as "Sunday Night Football", becuase Disney owns the name.

NBC has already announced that they will be calling their coverage "Football Night in America", a ripoff of "Hockey Night in Canada".
