Who's Still Watching Miss America?

The Miss America Pageant earned the highest ratings ever for her new cable channel- but attracted less than one-third of the viewers she last found on network television.

About 3.1 million people tuned in to Country Music Televisionto see Miss Oklahoma Jennifer Berry crowned the 2006 Miss America Pageant, which was held in Las Vegas for the first time.

While CMT was happy with the pageant's performance, the show did not make the list of the top 40 most watched cable programs aired last week. It was beaten by powerhouses like Jimmy Timmy Powerhour 2, Fairly OddParents and Drake & Josh.

Daniel Hasn't A Prayer

The Book of Daniel, the controversial drama starring Aidan Quinn as a conflicted Episcopal minister with a Vicodin habit, has been yanked from the NBC schedule after just three weeks on the air.

Besides drawing less-than-godly ratings, the show was criticized by Bible thumpers as being anti-Christian and was pulled from several of NBC's smaller affiliate stations.

The likely truth? NBC decided the controversy wasn't paying off ratings wise. If Daniel was a hit, the network wouldn't care about aggravating some religious righties.

Hey, SVU: May We Suggest...

Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay, who’s expecting her first child, will take some time off from the show after the birth.

Our suggestion for a replacement: of course, Eva Longoria.

She'd look smokin' hott in a trenchcoat and a badge.
