Meredith Viera Wants To Be A Today Co-Host

Could Meredith Vieira replace Katie Couric on Today if Couric jumps to CBS?

She thinks so.

She says that her contract expires in August, and she wouldn't rule it out. It seems unlikely, however, that NBC would replace Katie with a similarly aged (read: mid forties plus-ish) woman- it's a prime opportunity for them to get younger.

Vieira is a co-host on ABC's unwatchable The View and also hosts the syndicated Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

Michaels Ditches MNF- for SNF?

ESPN has announced their Monday Night Football anchor team on Wednesday- and it did not include Al Michaels.

This seems to pave the way for him to join NBC's new Sunday Night Football broadcast- and be once again alongside John Madden.

Michaels had previously announced he would remain with Monday Night Football when it moves from ABC to ESPN. He's apparently had a change of heart- and is willing to give up his basketball duties to remain on broadcast network football coverage.

No announcement is expected from NBC until after its Olympics coverage.
